The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).The IIE Varsity College, Westville Campus has a Lecturer: Advanced Topics in Information Systems Research (Independent Contractor) vacancy within the School of IT for the following module:

• Advanced Topics in Information Systems Research (ADTO8411)

Competencies required:

• Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the current state of research in the Information Systems field.
• Be able to demonstrate knowledge of various research methods, theories and frameworks used in the Information Systems field.
• Be able to evaluate the appropriateness of specific methods, theories and frameworks for use in given Information Systems research projects and contexts.
• Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent Presentation Skills.
• Assertiveness and dynamism.
• Understanding of customer service in education.
• Demonstrate an ability to manage work and self proactively.

Minimum Education Requirements:

• Masters in Information Technology.
• Alternatively, a NQF level 9 qualification that includes IT related topics.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

• Lecturing experience in general IT related topics.
• Work experience in an IT related field with research experience.

Working Conditions:

• Please note that this is an Independent Contractor role
• Please note that positions are Part-time with lectures taking place from 17:00 to 20:00.

Working Hours:

• Lectures take place Monday to Friday: 08:00 -17: 30 - specific days and times depend on the timetable for the specific module(s)

Salary:

• Hourly rate commensurate with experience and hours worked.
