Duties and Responsibilities:Academic Leadership & Campus Support
Assist with reviewing academic results of all students within the School on campus and implement an appropriate teaching and learning strategy for "At risk" students and "At risk" modules.
Academic counselling and support to students within the School.
Support the development of new programmes for accreditation.
Support development of academic material and assessments on programmes within the School by acting as developer, module leader, moderator or head of programme for the Central Academic Team (CAT).
Provide support to the campus marketing team with specialised knowledge of the programmes with the School.
Assist with plagiarism offences and disciplinary procedures.
Involvement in, and management of, academic support and administrative duties during the campus registration period.
Assist with the student tracking process.
Conduct Student consultations.
Be an active members and/or Chairperson/s of Engineering Committees.
Assisting the School with Teaching & Learning initiatives.
Assist on accreditation visits, such as ECSA, CHE and BAC.
Industry, Professional Management & Building Partnerships
Develop and maintain relationships with professional industry to support placement of students, bursaries and sponsorships and access to professional expertise.
Facilitation of and involvement in professional and scholarly activities e.g. Conference Papers and Higher Degree Studies.
Organise campus events for the School to promote professional industry relationships.
Actively engage with the ECSA and relevant professional bodies, such as SAICE, SAIEE and SAIMechE.
Lecturing
Lecture on engineering-related programmes (must lecture on an IIE qualification) across various modes of delivery where relevant.
Marking of assessments and feedback to students in subjects lectured. May be required to internally moderate assessments scripts that fall within their subject fields, where necessary across the sites of delivery.
Supervision on Capstone Design and Research Modules.
Student Development & Campus Support
Assisting with academic development and support for a specific programme and its students.
Tracking student success and implementing support interventions where required.
Assist in lecturer development and support processes and procedures. This may include conducting peer reviews, facilitating workshops and one-on-one consultations.
Assisting in the coordination of the engineering learning centre (ELC) (teaching assistants/ tutors).
Assist in the coordination of the engineering society focusing on student industry engagement.
Research & Scholarship
The incumbent is required to promote a culture of scholarship within their practice, discipline and campus/team and is also required to contribute towards the college achieving its annual research output targets.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Minimum of a BEng and a Master of Engineering (NQF Level 9) in Civil Engineering.
Registration as a Professional Engineer would be highly advantageous.)
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in Teaching and Learning (preferably in a tertiary education environment).
Demonstrated experience in curriculum design and development.
A record of research and publication in scholarly journals and/or conference proceedings.
Must have an understanding of the regulatory framework and its impact on higher education and private colleges.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday : 08:00 -17:00
