The successful candidate will join a dynamic and supportive Faculty dedicated to teaching and research, as well as to overall student development. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and willing to make a significant contribution to the development of the Faculty.The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that educates the students across multiple disciplines, including Accounting, Business and Finance, Economics, Industrial Psychology (Human Resources Management), Information Systems, Academic Literacies, and Political Studies. The Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS), Institute for Social Development, and School of Government also form part of the Faculty.The Department of Accounting has accreditation with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). The Department offers a three-year undergraduate degree and a one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA) for SAICA's Initial Test of Competence (ITC). The Department also offers an alternative three-year degree in Accounting, which is accredited by the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) and a number of other Professional Bodies.Key Performance Areas:

  • Facilitating learning and teaching at an undergraduate level, primarily in the area of Financial Accounting.
  • Providing academic administration.
  • Conducting research and publishing.
  • Undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate supervision.
  • Undertaking curriculum development and assessment.
  • Participating in community engagement and outreach.
Minimum Requirements
  • CA (SA) qualification
  • At least one year of experience in facilitating learning at a tertiary level-, in the field of Financial Accounting.
