Head: AcademicVega School is an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE). The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).The IIE Vega, Durban Campus has vacancies for Part-Time Lecturers (Motion Design and Motion Design Technology) for the 2025 academic year.

• MODE7311(Motion Design)

Competencies Required:

• Excellent communication (written and verbal)

• Demonstrated ability to manage work and self proactively
• Organisational and time management skills

Minimum Qualification Requirements:Ideal:

• Honours or Master's Degree in Digital Design, Multimedia Design, Motion Design, Interaction Design or Animation.
• Professional Portfolio to illustrate expertise in industry-standard 3D animation software.

Alternatively:

• Undergraduate qualification in a relevant design field, and an NQF 8 or higher qualification in Higher Education plus Adobe and Autodesk Maya/ 3DS Max Certification. OR
• Honours or Master's Degree in Graphic or Information Design or Film Arts with at least 3 years experience as a Motion designer in a design studio or advertising agency.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years work experience using 3D software is required
• Advanced skills in 3D software such as Blender or 3DS Max and Adobe Creative Cloud Software, with experience in 3D animation.

Working Conditions:

• Please note that this is an Independent Contractor (part-time) role

Working Hours:

• Lectures take place Monday to Friday: 08:00 -17: 30 - specific days and times depend on the timetable for the specific module(s)

• Competitive salary commensurate with experience and hours worked.
