Job Description


To support the faculty and department in pursuit of its academic, administration and research objectives which include: teaching according to a set syllabus; undertake projects, research and innovation; perform academic administration, contribute to curriculum development and design; engage in work integrated learning, Open Day to recruit Students, and service learning activities.Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A Master's degree in Multimedia Technologies or Information Technology (The candidate must obtain the relevant undergraduate underpinning qualification(s) within the field of study)
  • At least two (2) years' relevant lecturing experience in Higher Education
Recommendations
  • The candidate must show expertise in several of the following technologies relating to Multimedia namely:
o Graphics and Video Editing Tools
o New Media Development and Editing;
o Web Scripting with the CSS Design Frameworks and JavaScript Ecosystem;
o Web Development with JavaScript Frameworks;
o User-Centered Design (UXD), Human and Computer Interaction
o Knowledge of Database Design and Web Servers will be an added advantage.
  • Evidence of Technical portfolio on platforms like Github, Gitlab or Bitbucket will be an added advantage
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
  • Lectures subjects within the field of Multimedia and/or Information Technology
  • Participate in Curriculum development, Courseware development and assessment
  • Perform appropriate academic and administrative duties in the Department
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department
  • Participate in research: managing undergraduate research projects
  • Contribute to community initiatives by integrating community interventions into curriculum
  • Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies on co-operative education, new techniques/technologies and research projects
  • Assist with marketing and recruitment activities; contributes to the planning for Open Day, Attends Open Day and provides Information on Faculty courses

  • Safety/ management: Ensures compliance with safety rules
  • Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
