Department of Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics : Lecturer Post : Ref: Y600
Minimum Requirements: LecturerMasters Degree in Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics or equivalent
Persons applying for the position with a BTech: Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics will be considered for the position of Clinical Instructor should no applicants with Masters Degree apply.
A minimum of 3 years' work experience as an Orthotist or Prosthetist.
HPCSA registration in Orthotics and ProstheticsAdditional Recommendations:
Experience in training of students in Clinical Practice.
Good organisational and administrative skills.
Networking and leadership skills.
Proficiency in scientific writing and communications skills.
A motivated self-starter, responsible and accountable individual and a team player.
Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Power-point, internet and email use.
Registered or ready to register for a Master Degree.Summary of Duties:
Undertake practical training and assessment.
Conduct student practicals.
Co-ordinate Clinical Practice.
Monitor students progress in Clinical Practice.
Co-ordination and invigilation of theoretical assessments.
Ensure quality control in the Laboratory, as well as manage the day-to-day running of the laboratory.
Supervise, train and assess undergraduate students in the Laboratory.
Co-ordinate and manage work preparedness programme for students.
Co-ordination of discretionary clinical grant.
Communication with students through traditional and online mediums.
Involved in community engagement projects.
Undertake any additional duties assigned by HOD.
Working collegially with team members towards attaining the goals of the department, faculty and institution.Salary Range: Market Related
