The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent and suitably qualified individual to present practical and theoretical classes/courses to students and other role players in agriculture.
Minimum RequirementsAn appropriate 4-year BSc degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Agriculture majoring in Soil Science; A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience in Soil Science; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.
RecommendationProven working knowledge of training in Soil Science.
Key Performance AreasPrepare lesson plans and present practical, theoretical and/or short courses; Renewal and development of course material and study guides; Assessment of students through compilation of question papers and memorandums for examination; Administrative responsibility; Keep abreast of applicable prescripts, policies, procedures, technologies and new developments in the subject field.
CompetenciesKnowledge of the subject field; Proven knowledge of Soil Science. Skills needed: Communication (written and verbal); Computer literacy; Leadership, Planning and Organising; Formal training and presentation.
RemunerationR 376 413 per annum (Salary level 8).Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
