Job Description

A successful multi-national organization in the logistics industry is looking for a dedicated Legal Advisor to join their team in Pretoria, Gauteng.As a Legal Advisor specialising in Legal and Compliance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the organisation operates within legal guidelines and in minimizing risks associated with legal matters. You will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on a range of issues pertaining to regulatory compliance, contract law, corporate governance, and more. This role reports directly to the Head of Legal and Compliance and offers an opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making processes.Duties and responsibilities include:

• Provide legal guidance and support on regulatory compliance matters relevant to the industry.
• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the company.
• Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to ensure legal compliance across the organization.
• Assist in managing legal disputes and litigation, including working with external counsel when necessary.
• Advise on corporate governance matters and assist in board and shareholder meetings.
• Educate and train employees on legal issues and compliance matters.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Laws: LLB, BCom Law, BA Law or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 5 - 8 years post qualification experience
• Admitted attorney of the High Court (required)
• Knowledge of IP Management, SSA, Commercial law, Labour law and Dispute Resolution
• Strong ability in conducting legal research and analysis
• Additional languages such as French and/or Portuguese beneficial
