Urang Property Management Limited is a management agency based in London, currently overseeing the management of over 10,000 units across London and the surrounding areas. Over the years, Urang has developed in-house support teams to assist property managers with the day-to-day management functions of our portfolio.





We also specialise in Tribunal processes, supporting leaseholders in gaining control over the management of their blocks (Right-to-Manage). Additionally, we offer a service for the Appointment of a Manager through the Tribunal process, which contributes to the growth of our managed portfolio.





The majority of our support staff are based in South Africa and are employed by Block Management Solutions. We also maintain a co-working space in Stellenbosch, utilised for occasional meetings.

Job Summary:







We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support our Right-to-Manage and First-Tier Tribunal Manager Appointment Department Team in delivering high-quality legal services. The successful candidate will handle a broad range of legal tasks, including legal research, document preparation, case management, administration and internal (staff) and external (client) communication. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent organisational abilities, and the capability to work independently whilst supported by their superior. Please note that we do not require the candidate to have UK legal knowledge and will receive training and guidance to enable them to complete their daily tasks.




Key Responsibilities:




Conduct legal research and analyse statutes, regulations, case law, and legal articles. Draft, review, and manage legal documents such as tribunal submissions, and correspondence with the assistance of the Marketing Manager and internal teams. Prepare case files for tribunal proceedings, including tribunal bundles and supporting documents. Maintain and organise files, ensuring accurate documentation and easy retrieval. Lead weekly meetings, report on in-progress cases, and allocate tasks to ensure deadlines are met. Schedule and attend client meetings, taking detailed notes and following up on action items. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, involved parties, and the tribunal. Monitor and manage case deadlines and compliance requirements. Provide administrative support, including scheduling, billing, and document management.



Skills & Qualifications:




Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Legal certification preferred. At least 2 years of legal experience, preferably in property law. Strong understanding of legal terminology, legal documentation, and court procedures. Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines. High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information. Willingness to learn about UK property law. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Salary & Benefits:




Salary:

R20,000 - R23,000 per month (Depending on experience and qualifications).

Contract:

Permanent, Remote Role.

Working Hours:

Monday - Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 SAST.

Additional Requirements:




This is a remote role but requires you to be based in

Cape Town

due to occasional office visits in

Stellenbosch

. * Reliable internet access is required during working hours, including during extended load shedding periods.
