The Legal Counsel will provide timely, relevant and pragmatic legal advice and support to all companies within the Group.Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts (including framework agreements, SaaS agreements, confidentiality agreements, purchasing agreements and consultancy agreements) with customers, suppliers, contractors and partners;
  • Undertake contract management duties, as and when required, to ensure that the business has a clear understanding of the contracts it has in force, and the obligations contained within them;
  • Be able to recognise and advise on the salient points of intellectual property, data protection and employment law insofar as they relate to the provision and procurement of IT services;
  • Undertake research on relevant legal developments and feedback to team the team and business; and - Work with colleagues across the group to implement and manage legal, ESG and compliance processes and practices within the business.
Requirements:
  • A number of years experience of providing advice in commercial law;
  • Have experience of working in a fast-paced, in-house environment;
  • Be able to identify legal risks and to propose commercial, pragmatic solutions to mitigate those risks;
  • Be able to communicate well with people at all levels of seniority, both verbally and in writing;
  • Be organised and self-motivated;
  • Be able to remain calm and focused when faced with conflicting priorities; and
  • Have good IT skills and be proficient in using Microsoft packages.
  • We envisage this role being suitable for solicitors with post-qualification experience.
Desirable skills, experience & knowledge:
  • Experience of working within the IT and/or telecommunications sectors;
  • Experience of instructing and managing external legal advisers;
  • Experience of advising on contract law in European civil law jurisdictions.
