Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible in assisting to provide effective and efficient compliance support to the Head of Legal and Compliance.



Qualifications, Experience



LLB graduate or BA Law graduate. 1-2 years

Key responsibilities of this role





Legal Research: Conduct legal research on various issues related to the corporation's operations. Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Drafting Legal Documents: Assist in drafting legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, and policies. Prepare legal memoranda summarizing research findings. Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Assist in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures. Industrial Relations Support: Assist in managing and resolving industrial relations issues within the corporation. Participate in the preparation for collective bargaining negotiations. CCMA Case Management Support the legal manager in handling CCMA (Commission for Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration) cases. Assist in preparing documentation and evidence for CCMA proceedings. Sustainability Initiatives: Collaborate on sustainability-related projects and initiatives. Assist in ensuring legal compliance with environmental and social responsibility standards. Contract Review: Review and analyze contracts to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks. Summarize key terms and conditions for relevant stakeholders. Legal Database Management: Organize and maintain a database of legal documents, contracts, and compliance records. Assist in developing systems for efficient document retrieval. Coordination with External Counsel: Assist in managing relationships with external legal counsel. Support the legal manager in coordinating legal strategies with external experts. Training and Awareness: Assist in organizing legal training sessions for employees. Contribute to the development of materials to enhance legal awareness within the organization. Policy Development: Contribute to the development and review of corporate policies. Ensure that policies align with legal requirements and industry standards. Ad Hoc Legal Support: Provide general legal support on a variety of issues as they arise. * Assist in preparing responses to legal inquiries and requests.
