The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to build library stock through the selection and acquisition of suitable library materials, promote their use, and maintain a central bibliographic database.
Minimum RequirementsAn appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Library Science/Information Sciences; A minimum of 1 year experience in collection development and evaluation of library material.
RecommendationExperience in the following: Cataloguing experience using AACR2 or RDA; Afrikaans literature and Afrikaans publishing industry; Electronic resources collection development.Key Performance AreasEvaluation of library material; Creation of bibliographic records; Collection development; Promotion of library material.
