Job Description


Job Purpose:The Compliance Team is responsible for the arrangements for Approved Employers holding PCD status across all the companys markets, thus supporting the companys students and members to obtain practising certificates and contribute to the companys business relationships with these firms.The Licensing Officer is responsible for monitoring the standard of workplace training obtained by students and members who are training for the companys qualifications. This role will also provide support to the Authorisation and Accreditation teams to ensure consistent monitoring of all Approved Employers and Approved Learning Providers is undertaken irrespective of geographical location of the organisation.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage arrangements for Approved Employers holding Practising Certificate Development status across the companys South Africa market, thus supporting the companys students and members to obtain practising certificates and contribute to the companys business relationships with these firms.
  • Undertake Approved Employer monitoring reviews in line with agreed regulatory standards and the rolling visit plan.
  • Provide support to the Accreditation teams by engaging with and undertaking formal site visits to the South African based Approved Learning Providers and universities who deliver the companys accredited degrees.
  • Review of experience records in support of practising certificate applications and providing relevant feedback to members and Authorisation Officers, as required.
  • Prepare relevant monthly MI for submission to the Compliance and Accreditation teams (and any other internal function as directed by the Compliance Manager). Be responsible for collating and preparing relevant statistical and other information and draft returns as required by IRBA.

  • Provide support as needed to any nominated members of the company who sit on any IRBA Committees.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and review of regulatory procedures and systems to ensure efficient and effective performance of the Licensing department as a whole.
  • Work with the Relationships teams where Compliance activity crosses their own activities to ensure employer relationships are enhanced by monitoring process. In addition, use such opportunities to provide training and support to their local staff.
  • Undertake any ad hoc work as required by the Director Practice Regulation, Head of Compliance and Authorisation or any other senior staff.
Key Metrics (financial and/or non-financial):
  • This post forms part of the Compliance team and reports to the Compliance Manager.
  • Accountable for the achievement of individual performance targets based on Approved Employer advisory and monitoring visits with accountancy firm employers, Approved Learning Providers visits and other work as set out above.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • The successful candidate will be expected to possess the following attributes:
  • Educated to degree level and/or equivalent
  • Professional accountancy qualification
  • Demonstrable senior experience within South African audit firms and the wider accountancy sector
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners
  • A highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic individual who is able to work with minimum supervision and with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Well-developed written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Competency across the Microsoft office suite
