THE ROLEAs a Clinical Associate at Kena, you will be working in a multidisciplinary team with nurses, doctors, and mental health professionals, to deliver primary healthcare services via voice, video, and text on our app. This includes providing medical advice, diagnosing conditions, prescribing medications, and issuing sick notes. Patients needing care beyond the Clinical Associate's scope are transferred to a doctor or mental health professional immediately within the App and those requiring advanced interventions are referred accordingly. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGProviding high-quality advice:Answering questions about medical conditions, medications, or the need for more urgent care.Explaining diagnosis or ongoing care to patients after a new diagnosis or diagnostic results.Assisting patients with everyday clinical concerns by taking a history, reviewing photos or patient results, and doing a virtual examination. Providing high-quality virtual care:Performing clinical assessments virtually.Diagnosing conditions, providing treatment, and where out of scope, referring to the doctor.Identifying those who may need urgent, face-to-face, or chronic care and referring.Coaching patients on new diagnoses and counselling to improve compliance with chronic care. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on our digital platform:Referring for appropriate clinical consultations.Working with doctors or mental health professionals via the platform.Delivering clinical results and meeting cost control goals. EDUCATIONBachelor of Clinical Medical Practice and up-to-date HPCSA registration (prerequisite).Post-graduate PHC training (advantageous).
