Our extrusion plants have earned the reputation: Built in Africa for Africa!.We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with various aspects of the supply chain, including coordinating shipments, managing inventory, and communicating with vendors and customers. The ideal candidate will have strong multitasking skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
• Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers.
• Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers.
• Oversee the handling of import/export documentation and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs documentation.
• Track and monitor the movement of goods to ensure timely delivery to customers.
• Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues or concerns.
• Update and maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, delivery notes, and transportation costs.
• Assist with the resolution of any discrepancies or delays in the supply chain.
• Provide support to the logistics team as needed, including data analysis and reporting.
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in logistics management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Previous experience (3 years) in logistics coordination or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing and field services organization.

• Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, transportation modes, and logistics software/systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of the Jira software package is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
