Our client is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join their team in Ladysmith (KZN). Successful candidate will be required to ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems within the manufacturing plant. Minimum Requirements:-
- Matric / N3
- Mechanical Fitting Trade Test
- Minimum 2 years' post qualification experience in an FMCG environment
- Willing and able to work any shift, variable start times, overtime, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Working knowledge of other trades and skills such as welding, basic electrical and facilities
- Proficient communicator with good interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy essential
- Maintain and install electrical services throughout the facility including lighting & HVAC
- Considers all safety precautions and proper isolations of circuits to cause a minimum of interference to operations
- Preventative maintenance including inspections and general maintenance tasks
- Assembly and disassembly of components, problem troubleshooting and correction
- Diagnose, repair or replace faulty mechanical components of machinery
- Support production operations for all maintenance and repairs for mechanical problems on a variety of machinery
- Experienced in reading and interpreting hydraulic and pneumatic schematics for troubleshooting and problem solving as well as reading machine assembly drawings
- Maintenance and troubleshooting on compressed air systems, heavy presses, powder coating and enameling equipment
- Basic supervisory skills are needed to manage small teams and projects
- Ensuring that all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with safety regulations and standards
- Conducting routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of mechanical systems, machines, and equipment to ensure they operate efficiently and safely
- Identifying and diagnosing mechanical issues and breakdowns through troubleshooting and testing methods
- Swiftly responding to equipment breakdowns, to minimize production disruptions and maintain operational efficiency
