Our client manufactures and distributes a wide range of beverages, including carbonated soft drinks, energy drinks, mixers, and still beverages.The Purpose of the Role:This role will take accountability for managing operational projects within the maintenance space, ensuring Infrastructure maintenance initiatives are carried out successfully within agreed timeframes, cost and scope. They will also manage ad hoc maintenance requests, ensuring issues are addressed within agreed SLA's.Role: Maintenance ManagerLocation: Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.Industry: Manufacturing - BottlingOperationsAccountable for maintaining quality, standards, service and desired outputs within inter-related functional areas of responsibility. May be responsible for ensuring the adherence of others to a set framework of policies and procedures. This role will work with various concrete variables, requiring an understanding of the theory or practices underpinning inter-related functional processes within a multi-procedural environment.Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have Grade 12, Matric or NQF4 equivalent qualification.
  • Bachelors Degree (3-4 years) / NQF level 7 - Bachelor Science: Engineering (Essential)
  • FMCG bottling experience with a min of 3-4 years leading maintenance teams (bottling preferred)
  • Lean manufacturing experience (preferred)

  • Clear criminal record

Maintenance Management
  • Manage all maintenance and related activities to ensure optimal levels of plant and equipment availability
  • Ensure all equipment and safety standards are maintained
  • Manage ad hoc maintenance requests, ensuring issues are addressed within agreed SLA's
  • Effectively manage relationships with contractors and suppliers
  • Provide expert advice and help efficiently resolve maintenance queries
General Operational and Financial Management
  • Actively participate in operational planning and budgeting processes
  • Drive continuous improvement through streamlining and optimising relevant operational practices, processes and systems
  • Ensure adherence to operational and financial frameworks of practices, processes, standards and controls
  • Control cost and take the necessary action to mitigate any financial risks or non-compliance
Adherence to the health, safety, food and environmental standards
  • Staff shall adhere to all Food Safety Policies and PRPxe2x80x99s and shall adhere to and enforce all food safety requirements at all times
  • Staff shall adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental Policies and PRPxe2x80x99s and shall adhere to and enforce all Health and Safety requirements at all times
  • Visitor and Contractor Policy xe2x80x93 staff shall ensure that visitors or contractors entering the facility are signed in, escorted and wear PPE, are aware of the hygiene policies and do not smoke, eat or drink inside the facility
  • Code of Practice xe2x80x93 staff shall maintain high levels of personal hygiene in accordance with the code of conduct
  • Handwashing Procedure xe2x80x93 Ensuring staff are cleaning and sanitizing hands efficiently before handling the product.
  • Physical Contamination Control Policy and Procedure xe2x80x93 Staff shall be aware of the potential of physical product contamination. Staff is aware of control measures to prevent physical contamination.
  • Safety, Health and Environment Policy xe2x80x93 Staff take reasonable measures to ensure health and safety hazards do not occur. Should an accident occur, staff shall be aware of the procedure of reporting the incident.
  • First Aid Policy xe2x80x93 Staff are aware of the first aider on site. Staff is trained to report injuries and illness to supervisors/first aiders.
  • Conversant with relevant business information, policies, processes and procedures
