Our client in the Food and Beverage industry is currently looking for a Maintenance Manager, in Epping, Cape Town.Responsibilities:
Risk & Compliance:
Issue safe work permits.
Comply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirements and food safety requirements.
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, allergen control, housekeeping and pest control.
Participate in personal hygiene checks.
Ensuring all maintenance contractors comply with the organisation.
Food Standards and policies.
Co-ordinate and facilitate Insurance inspections and requirements, ensuring these are conducted within the required timeframes.
Responsible for ensuring that the legal requirements align with the Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
Designated as the GMR2 for respective plants.
Administration/Reporting:
Assist with maintaining equipment asset register.
Ensure the necessary SLAs are in place for the relevant machinery.
Responsible for purchasing and negotiating with suppliers.
Responsible for the CMMS.
Develop first line maintenance manuals and 1-page lessons.
Manage spares inventory.
Ensure critical spares stock levels are maintained.
Training of operators and artisans.
Maintenance:
Managing contractors.
Prioritization of job cards with production, technical and safety departments.
Data/report analysis from CMMS.
Plan necessary equipment and facility cleaning with hygiene/ technical department.
Planning and scheduling of resources.
Reporting on maintenance to General Manager and Engineering Manager.
Escalation when necessary.
Over inspections of work done by artisans and of their assigned areas.
Tactics and strategy on Asset Care.
5S Implementation.
Assisting with Capex projects.
Financial Management:
Compiling budgets to support and assist the Engineering Manager.
Monitor and ensure that the maintenance budget is adhered to in line with business requirements Monitor and identify exceptions to the budget and validate reason to superior.
People Management:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the outputs of the team/s.
Monitor operational activities of staff.
Provide input and feedback from performance reviews and assist in improving staff's performance.
Provide input into job descriptions and duties.
Schedule staff leave and maintain staff records.
Supervise, teach and motivate the team.
Take responsibility for staff work, induction and on-the-job training.

Requirements:
N4 relevant qualification.
N6 Qualification with supervisory certificate.
3+ years maintenance management experience.
6 - 8 years relevant experience.
Good all-round mechanical and electrical knowledge.
