Job SummaryMaintenance Manager (Live In) Engineering/Technical
Western Cape - Cape Town*ENVIRONMENT:TAKE charge of all technical and maintenance installations of facilities located at a picturesque Nature Reserve nestled midway between Cape Town and Knysna seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager. Your role will include managing the Maintenance team including allocating the work jobs, making manuals and descriptions of all technical installations on the property while preparing programs and budgets for the big (scheduled) maintenance jobs that need to be done during the annual closing in June. Applicants need to be hands-on, have training experience and have theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in working with off grid operations, solar panel farm, hotwater boiler systems and other related installations. This is a Live In position.DUTIES:

• Manage the complete technical and maintenance installations of facilities including the houses and the staff village. This includes

• Making manuals and descriptions of all technical installations on the property including drafting maintenance programs for these installations.
• Coaching, assisting and training of the Maintenance team to execute the maintenance program adequately.
• Responsible for the management of the Maintenance team onsite including allocating the work jobs while all operational work for the guests also continues (set ups, wood supply, etc.).
• Responsible for an organized work environment for the Technical team, managing (which includes organizing the spaces, developing procedures for the use, handling the orders, following up on orders, etc.) the workshops, maintenance tools and equipment, spare parts, etc.
• Make sure the properties in the widest sense are in perfect condition for guests and staff accommodation also well maintained.
• Make and prepare programs and budgets for the big (scheduled) maintenance jobs that need to be done during the annual closing in June.
• Together with other management, help implement and train staff in efficient and careful use of equipment in an off-grid operation so that generator use/diesel-usage will be limited.
• Manage the team of woodworkers busy with the eradication of rooikrans. This rooikrans is processed for internal use but excess wood will be sold to lower the effective conservation cost.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Have theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in working with off grid operations, solar panel farm, hotwater boiler systems and other related installations.
• Be a hands-on individual with good communication skills, specifically in training.
• Managerial skills and experience.
