Job Description

Will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of the power plant by managing a team of maintenance technicians and other professionals who work together to ensure that the plant is running smoothly and safelyQualifications:Technical Diploma or Mechanical Engineering DegreeRelated Experience:2-4 years experience in a similar managerial position5 years minimum experience in maintenance and engineering roles in an industrial/manufacturing environmentSound knowledge of boilers, steam systems, power generation equipment, stock control and store managementCMMS knowledge.Sound knowledge of OHS ActSound knowledge and Experience in Labour LegislationGeneral Machinery Regulations experience is an advantage.Key Performance OutputsPrimarily oversee all mechanical and electrical maintenance systems, processes, practices, and people to support the operational departmental actionsAlign with the operations plan to ensure plant optimization and efficiency, maintenance planning,g and capital spares optimizationTo lead the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.Responsible for ensuring that the facility operates to its maximum efficiency and output.Responsibilities includes total preventative maintenance,and managing breakdowns of mechanical and electrical equipment.Skills and competencies:Sound knowledge of boilers, steam systems, power generation equipment, stock control and store managementCMMS knowledge.Sound knowledge of OHS ActSound knowledge and Experience in Labour LegislationxefxbbxbfGeneral Machinery Regulations experience is an advantageKnowledge and understanding of power plant operations and associated risks.Knowledge and understanding of SHERQ management systems.Knowledge and understanding on conducting risk assessments.Good numeric reasoning ability.Good attention to detail.Organised, efficient and ability to multi-task.Deadline driven and the ability to work under pressure.Negotiation skills.Project management principles.Sound knowledge of human behaviour and occupational hygiene.Communication and presentation skills.Leadership skills.Facilitation and presentation skills.Procedure and report writing skills.Computer literacy (e.g. MS Excel, MS word, MS PowerPoint etc.).Auditing skills.Team player, motivating, coaching and mentoring skills.Excellent legislative knowledge and the ability to implement and manage SHERQ legislation.Punctual and reactivity to emergency situations.Proactive and anticipation of risk.
