Job Description
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must be a Certified Millwright (Red Seal)
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a Maintenance Millwright on a farm
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with a focus on pumps is essential
- Willingness to work in a farm environment and adapt to seasonal workload variations
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards is essential
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Must be proficient in Afrikaans (Written and Spoken)
- Performing scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on farm machinery, including tractors, irrigation systems, and harvesting equipment.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
- Installing, maintaining, and upgrading electrical wiring, control systems, and equipment components.
- Ensuring all farm machinery complies with safety and operational standards.
- Collaborating with farm management to ensure timely and efficient resolution of equipment issues.
- Maintaining records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections.
- Monitoring spare parts inventory and ordering replacements as required.
- Training equipment operators on proper usage and basic maintenance practices.
- Ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Assisting with the implementation of new technologies or farming machinery.
