Job Purpose:



The Maintenance Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of equipment, machinery, and facilities.

This role will involve managing a team of technicians, coordinating maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:



Team Management & Supervision:

Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing direction, training, and mentorship. Assign daily tasks and priorities to the maintenance team and ensure the timely completion of work. Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance-related issues.

Maintenance Operations:

Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and facilities. Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and improve asset reliability. Coordinate emergency repairs and breakdown maintenance, ensuring minimal operational disruption. Conduct inspections to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure that maintenance activities comply with company policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols. Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness, enforcing safe work practices within the maintenance team. Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials as per regulatory guidelines.

Inventory & Budgeting:

Manage and maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment. Assist in budget preparation and monitor costs to ensure expenditures are within budget. Oversee the procurement of materials and tools necessary for maintenance tasks.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting:

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and reliability. Collect and analyse performance data, generating reports on key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide feedback to management regarding operational issues, solutions, and improvements.

Collaboration & Communication:

Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, engineering) to ensure that maintenance needs are met and downtime is minimized. Communicate effectively with management and staff to relay information regarding maintenance schedules and priorities.

Required Qualifications:



Education:

High school diploma or equivalent (required). Associate degree or technical certification in a related field (preferred). Specialized training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance (preferred).

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership position. Experience in managing maintenance teams, developing maintenance schedules, and working in a fast-paced, industrial environment. Familiarity with industrial maintenance software or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Knowledge of safety standards and regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.). Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints. Proficient in using maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and software.

Working Conditions:



Full-time, with occasional overtime as required. Work is primarily on-site in a manufacturing or industrial environment. May be required to work shifts, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.
