Focused on Oral Care, Personal Care, Home Care and Pet Nutrition, we sell our products in more than 200 countries and territories under brands such as Colgate, Palmolive, elmex, hello, meridol, Sorriso, Toms of Maine, EltaMD, Filorga, Irish Spring, PCA SKIN, Protex, Sanex, Softsoap, Speed Stick, Ajax, Axion, Fabuloso, Soupline and Suavitel, as well as Hills Pet Nutrition.We are recognized for our leadership and innovation in promoting sustainability and community wellbeing, including our achievements in decreasing plastic waste and promoting recyclability, saving water, conserving natural resources and improving childrens oral health.If you want to work for a company that lives by their values, then give your career a reason to smile and join our global team!Main ResponsibilitiesDelegating maintenance tasks to the rest of the team, and finding relevant vendors and service providersDeveloping maintenance plans and implementing themCustodian for SAP EAM and program executionControl the issuing of the engineering spares/materials (new and used) in the engineering storesKeeping track and ordering of supplies, consumables, material and spare parts inventories for themaintenance departmentKeeping track and ordering of supplies and consumables for the production departmentPurchasing any equipment, tools, or materials that may be requiredUpdating maintenance logs for all machinerySupporting requirements regarding Asset Tagging and Asset ManagementAssessing procedures and making recommendations for improvementMonitors the stock items in the engineering stores and replenish as neededAssists during the stock take activities of the Engineering parts/stockEnsuring that CFP (Colgate Financial Policy) expectations are consistently met FP&RAssists in the implementation of Planned Maintenance and Autonomous maintenance standards as part of the FP&R standards.Provides Planned/ Autonomous Maintenance KPIs to the FP&R coordinator.Purchase the supplies needed for AM and PM activities such as (Grease, Rags, Brooms, Mops,etc.)Identify FTG opportunities/ initiativesPlanning Develops short and long term maintenance schedules and ensures that maintenance schedulesare always up to date.Negotiates plant availability with the Production Planner.Implements plant maintenance schedules through liaison with the artisan/techniciansFollow up with artisans to ensure that the maintenance plan is implemented according to theschedule. Maintenance ActivitiesControls all maintenance inspection records. Coordinate maintenance activities among the engineering staff.Hosting the Maintenance Planning meetings.Preparing and Sharing dashboards for Maintenance KPIs and SAP Notifications.Participates in problem solving/root cause analysis activities in the engineering department(related to mechanical reliability of machines).Documentation Implements and coordinates technicians job card system and track labour effectiveness.Captures and analyses failure history of various equipment in the plant for further investigation bythe engineering department.Generates reports on plant performance and makes information available for theartisan/technicians and other employees on the maintenance board.Managing Materials and Services Is able to determine material planning needs for maintenance activity schedule/condition.Is able to translate historical performance and maintenance information into accurate partsinventory levels.Continuous Improvement Uses data and information to develop/modify preventive maintenance schedules and identifypotential improvements related to equipment.Understands and applies the Asset Effectiveness Model.Participates in Continuous Improvement activities to improve line performance.Share ideas, knowledge and best practices to improve processes and solve problems.Works to standardised best practices.EOHS and Quality Leadership Leads by example and demands safe behaviours and awareness, sound environmental practicesand commitment to Quality.Understands own role and responsibility as well as that of others in implementing EHS andQuality standards and guidelines.Takes corrective actions in a timely manner to mitigate potential EHS or Quality incidents.Abides by facility safety and GMP requirements and sets the example.Proactive in self-assessing against corporate EHS and Quality standards and governmentalregulations.Expectations Optimum Making and Finishing efficiency achieved (measured using OPERA) throughmechanical reliability of all machinesAchieving Maintenance KPIs (PM Adherence, etc.)Minimal line downtime through the implementation of Planned maintenanceOptimised overall cost of maintaining machines through effective and time repair work.Compliance to EHS/Quality and FP&R standards.GMP compliance with respect to equipment maintenance and operation.Successful generation and implementation of improvement ideas/projects. Knowledge and SkillsComputer literacy Sound knowledge of SAP EAMTechnical Literacy/ Numeracy skillsFunctioning with minimal supervisionVerbal and written communication skillsTime managementProactively apply skills and knowledge to consistently manufacture products to CP standards.Collaborates with others in a team to achieve plant objectives.Understands technical processes in the factory.Identifies and communicates equipment capabilities and constraints.Understands the individual components and interfacing of major components and systems ofequipment.Ensures that equipment and processes are capable of meeting production schedules, customerdemands, and Quality and Microbiology targets.Understand impact of Quality, and EOHS standards on overall performance.Models safe behaviour.Is able to correctly estimate time to repair and time to complete maintenance activities. Experiences/Educational Level/Skills Attributes RequiredLEVEL OF EDUCATIONMinimum N6 Diploma in Engineering plus trade Test qualification or National Diploma.
