This position reports to the Engineering Specialist: Wellington whilst also servicing the Van Ryn and Cooperage sites in Stellenbosch.Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:Establish and maintain an up-to-date asset and equipment register in SAPEstablish and maintain sound maintenance plans and practicesDevelop and maintain asset structure and expand downwards to component level where requiredApply the Reliability Centred Maintenance strategy for each maintainable asset / componentDevelop work instructions (task list) for scheduled maintenance ordersMaintain master dataAlign system driven schedules with machine and resource availabilityProcurement of engineering related services, equipment and spares parts - Provide information on the delivery dates and expediting of service, equipment and spares parts for on time completion of planned workAdminister and manage service/inspection contracts for 3rd party / OEM maintenance on selected equipmentScoping of workEnsure critical spares availabilityEnsure all type of work orders are scheduled, printed, issued and received by the maintenance staff and contractors timeouslyCapture artisan data and closing of job cards and booking of man-hoursAssist with planning and execution of engineering (CAPEX and Abnormal maintenance) and maintenance shutdown projectsLong-term and short-term planning and schedulingAssist with compiling and managing relevant annual budgets to align with timeous maintenance requirementsManage maintenance related cash flow on a continuous basisMonitor, plan and ensure timeous execution of all statutory work according to legislation related to machinery in the plantMaintain Engineering, SHE, Food Safety and Quality related documentation (Pressure Vessel register, Machinery Safety assessments, critical checklists, emissions testing, hygienic engineering etc.) and participate in auditsProduce clear and accurate maintenance reportsReducing downtime and effective management of responsibilitiesThe successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills, experience and attributes:Relevant technical qualification (i.e. N3 or higher + Trade Test or National Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering)Computer literate (Knowledge of SAP PM compulsory)A minimum of 3 years' experience in maintenance planningSelf-starter that can perform on his/her own as well as function within a team environmentMust have project scheduling and planning experience (time requirements, time allocations, resource planning, and spare parts management)Able to analyse data and convert it to useful information and actionsTechnical procurement experience - Able to handle suppliers rigidly and procure technical equipmentSolid experience in reliability centred maintenance and root cause analysis will be highly advantageousStrong knowledge of factory legislation and regulationsGood interpersonal skills and strong communication skills (written and oral)Strong technical and administrative aptitude and experience is requiredWilling and able to assist after hours should an operational emergency ariseDriver's license and own reliable transportWillingness to travel locally between sitesThe Companys approved Employment Equity Plan and Targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
