The Maintenance Planner/Buyer seeks to avoid operational hiccups that cause delays and Maintenance backlog.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Understand the job well enough to describe what needs to be accomplished, estimate work hours, tools and resources needed to complete different work orders.
Prepare preventative maintenance plans and schedules that are in sync with the organisations maintenance goals
Constantly adjust schedules to account for emergency work (breakdowns)
Act as the primary liaison person between maintenance and operations
Lead communication between maintenance and other internal beneficiaries of maintennace work to ensure that everyone receives timely, efficient and quality service
Coordinate Planned shuts to reduce MTBF and minimize interference with production schedules
Minimize the number of interruptions once work begins
Establish job goals for the Maintenance Team
Provide immediate insights into potential work shortages (or excesses)
Help with keeping an optimal stock of spare parts and materials
Sometimes, prepare and compliance with production manager
Ensure month end and daily stock counts are accurate and recorded, sent out to all involved in inventory management
Tracking of utility usages and compiling daily and monthly reports
Budget tracking and management
Procurement of all parts and spares
Liase with service providers and suppliers, ensuring all services and parts required are procured in a timely manner as needed
Month end reporting
Manage the storeman responsible for the engineering stores
Ensure contractors are procured and managed as plant needs arise
Manage the plant maintenance program (Procare) and ensure all schedules are executed as and when due
Updating of the Procare maintenance system (inputting new schedules and updating existing)
Managing and growing working relationships with all suppliers and service providers
Creating, tracking and closing our purchase orders
Managing all invoicing for the engineering department
Qualifications:
Grade 12, NQF Level 5 in accounting
Working knowledge of Inventory management
Computer Literacy in MS Office
Must have:
