Maintenance Supervisor - Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape R40 000 CTCA leading automated manufacturing company is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor at the Port Elizabeth Factory to oversee factory maintenance operations and resources, ensuring production targets and optimal product quality standards are met in a safe and efficient manner.Key Responsibilities:xc2xb7 Maintenance Operations and Controlxc2xb7 Perform reactive, predictive, and preventative maintenance on all plant/infrastructure/equipment to limit potential failure and optimize productionxc2xb7 Coordinate first-line maintenance to prevent plant/equipment downtimexc2xb7 Raise job cards for maintenance work, ensure necessary work permits are includedxc2xb7 Participate in fault analysis on equipment failure (Root Cause Analysis 5 WHY, 8D, etc.)xc2xb7 Approve job cards post-maintenancexc2xb7 Ensure equipment and work areas are safe and maintained by operatorsxc2xb7 Evaluate and recommend improvements to optimize factory system efficiency and reliabilityxc2xb7 Troubleshoot and resolve production process or quality issuesxc2xb7 Operate within controls and procedures to ensure integrityxc2xb7 Identify and report risks or areas of concern to managementxc2xb7 Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and proceduresxc2xb7 Take responsibility for Health and Safety by addressing unsafe practices promptlyxc2xb7 Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customersxc2xb7 Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for necessary repairs or upgradesxc2xb7 Identify and solve problems creatively, demonstrating integrity in line with core valuesxc2xb7 Ensure all employees have signed performance agreementsxc2xb7 Conduct employee appraisals quarterlyxc2xb7 Identify staff performance objectives, development areas, and action plans in collaboration with HRxc2xb7 Ensure ongoing training and development of employeesxc2xb7 Supervise and train maintenance technicians, ensuring adherence to safety standards and proceduresxc2xb7 Address employee relations matters fairly and promptlyxc2xb7 Contribute to the budget preparation processxc2xb7 Promote and communicate efficient use of financial and other resourcesxc2xb7 Monitor and control expenditure against budget, report deviationsxc2xb7 Maintain records and reports on maintenance activities, costs, and performance indicatorsxc2xb7 Explore opportunities to control and reduce costsQualifications and Experience:Matric
Trade Test (NQF 5)
BSc / BEng - Mechanical / Electrical/ Mechatronics. 4 years in an automated manufacturing
Up to 5 years of experience in maintenance management or supervision in a manufacturing environment, with 1-2 years at a supervisory level
Experience working shifts (advantageous)
Sound knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment
Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite; SAP; ER, MES, and ERP systems)
In-depth knowledge of maintenance practices, procedures, and processes
Understanding of compliance with applicable legislation, safety, and manufacturing regulations
Strong technical skills and knowledge of machinery, tools, and equipment used in the factory
Ability to handle pressure and conflict situations
Strong understanding of structured problem solving and root cause analysis
Supervisory experience
