DESCRIPTIONAmazon is looking for a Manager of Associate Vendor Managers to lead a team of associate vendor managers. Amazon Vendor Services are a suite of services designed to help Amazon's most strategic vendors grow and deliver the best customer experience by working across all key retail levers (e.g. selection, availability, operational efficiency, catalog quality, and marketing) or any other ad-hoc strategic vendor need. The service is delivered primarily through account managers assigned to specific vendors. As a Manager of Associate Vendor Managers for Amazon Vendor Services, you will be responsible for supporting the development and launch of the service in South Africa. You will also be responsible to deliver impact to a large group of vendors through a team of account managers reporting to you. Your priority will be to deliver on our commitment to help vendors improve their performance across key retail metrics, ensure their satisfaction with the service and continuously improve the productivity of your team. You will work in close collaboration with Vendor Managers and your Associate Vendor Managers to understand your vendors' needs and define the right goals and targets. You will meet Category Leaders on a regular basis to get guidance and help them with strategic decision making. Finally, you will be expected to contribute to continuous enhancements and innovation within the service. You should be passionate about managing and developing people, resourceful and customer focused. You need to have a proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced and dynamic business environments while managing the needs of different groups of stakeholders.Key job responsibilitiesKey job responsibilities
(i) Partner with Vendor Managers and key retail category functions to define priorities and operational goals according to vendor needs
(ii) Manage a team of Associate Vendor Managers owning the joint business plans for most strategic vendors and deliver significant business impact (you will be accountable for the business results of your team)
(iii) Coach and Train Associate Vendor Managers on Amazon mechanisms, processes, tools and business topics. As a manager, you will have to develop the right skill sets within the team and allocate resources to vendors
(iv) Support the business by auditing daily business operations and drive the optimization of the business metrics
(v) Audit metrics regularly to continually drive quality of vendor and employee experience across multiple sub-categories
(vi) Own relevant business areas for your entire category, maximizing category results at scale
(vii) Work with the Amazon AVS teams in other countries to shape the program through scaling and efficiency initiatives to drive productivity within your team
(viii) Drive vendor adoption of Amazon programs
(ix) Grow and develop people into a talent pool for AmazonWe are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Cape Town, ZAFBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelors degree
- 7+ years of experience in Retail or a KPI driven business/sales roles
- Experience leading multi-functional teams and developing people managers, in a fast-paced and data-driven environment
- Ability to both lead through a team as well as roll up sleeves and directly own work that delivers results
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to influence people both internally and externallyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Master's degree
