Job Title: Manager: Debt Management (Fixed Term Contract)Position Reports to: Programme Head: Office of the DC (TE&O)Division: Taxpayer Engagement & OperationsLocation: PretoriaAdvert Closing Date: 26 February 2025About the PositionThe position will be responsible for overseeing the management of debt book through the finalization of allocated debt cases per the impaired accounts population. The position involves strategic planning and tactical implementation of debt management policies, with a focus on improving operational performance and reducing the debt book. The manager will ensure that the department adheres to compliance, governance, and risk policies while developing and maintaining a high-performance team.Job PurposeTo effectively manage debt book through finalization of the allocated debt cases to reduce the debt book.Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Debt / Audit / Financial Management or similar with 8 - 10 years' experience in a Debt Management/Audit environment, of which 3 - 4 years at a junior management level.Minimum Qualification & Experience RequiredSenior Certificate (NQF 4) with 15 years related experience in a Debt Management / Audit environment, of which 3 - 4 years at a junior management levelJob Outputs:Process

  • Ensure the development and implementation of a practice in alignment with operational policy and procedural frameworks. (I)
  • Implement tactical strategy and delivery plans through the development of operational activities, ensuring the achievement of operational targets. (I)
  • Proactively identify interconnected problems, determine its impact and use to develop best fit alternatives, best practice implementation solutions.
  • Provide periodic reports on performance against plan and progress on short-term initiatives and use to realign tactical plan and objectives appropriately. (I)
  • Use the insights gained through integrated business reports to measure success and realign tactical strategy development objectives appropriately.
  • Plan for handling work outputs, pull together interdependent activities and specify priorities, standards and procedures to ensure tactical excellence.
  • Recommend changes to optimise processes, systems, policies and procedures, and direct the implementation of change and innovation initiated by the organisation.
  • Timeously communicate top-down policy and associated single practice area modification, objective achievement progress and critical success factors to impacted stakeholders. (I)
  • Act as the bottom-line drivers of tactical implementation within the context of business unit excellence and performance improvement. (I)
  • Direct, control, coordinate and optimise budgeted resources to meet specific objectives and deliver agreed results and productivity requirements. (I)
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) and quality and service standards, to be adhered to in area of accountability.

  • Implement governance, risk and compliance policy in own practice area to identify and manage governance and risk exposure liability. (I)
  • Manage and or advise on the translation and application of policy in a specific functional area. (I)
