Reference Number: CV:Our client is a leading mining company in South Africa who have a vacancy for a Manager, Engineering Development. The main purpose of this role is to manage the mechanical, electrical and civil engineering resources and inputs required for growth, sustaining and improvement projects; To manage the physical asset management and reliability engineering to achieve optimal financials, operability and maintainability of physical assets within projects and current operations.Responsibilities:Provide input targets in terms of availability, reliability and cost optimisation of assets
Ensure effective life cycle management of assets
Ensure that Physical Asset Management (PAM) principles are implemented, adhered to and aligned to business strategies
Develop value adding techniques for asset management whilst ensuring compliance to sound engineering standards and principles
Confer and share strategic and tactical information with relevant stakeholders to discuss issues, coordinate activities and resolve problems related to technical and operational requirements and project execution
Ensure business systems are maintained and optimised by conducting continuous research
Provide expert technical and operational support and direction to the engineering and project teams
Compliance, Governance and Assurance to MHSA, BU and Company policies and procedures
Provide technical input to appropriate quantitative analyses conducted to evaluate financial viability of alternatives
Ensure effective cost and cash flow management principles are applied and continually evaluate options and areas for cost reduction/optimisation in line with targets
Adhere to functional policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, end to end processes, tools, templates etc.
Design and implement an optimised team structure that is manned by motivated and empowered staff and lead by sound performance management and transformational leadership practices
Identify, evaluate and complete capital projects aimed at improving operational excellence, effectiveness and compliance with minimum risk, within allocated timeframes and according to specified budgetary requirements
Assume responsibility for effective and preventative maintenance management of all plant and infrastructure machines, systems and equipment to limit failure and optimise production processes
Liaise with other departments towards evaluating new technologies to improve process capabilities, physical asset performance, product quality and throughput requirements
Ensuring compliance with all applicable Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) policies, procedures and legislation in line with set standards
Electrical, mechanical and civil engineering support required to compile and maintain Standard Procedure Instruction (SPI)/Code of Practice (COP) as well as technical queries
Propose Asset's Life Cycle Costing (LCC) strategies

Relevant Experience in Engineering, project, asset, contractor, consultant and construction management relevant within a mining/production environment (At least 8 - 10 years)
Engineering Council of SA (PrEng) (Essential/Minimum)
