BCom Accounting or equivalent with a minimum 7 years experience in a similar role.
Post graduate qualification (honours or equivalent) will be an advantage.
Experience in a consulting engineering industry is preferable.
Cross border experience, including use of foreign currencies.
Proven track record in leading and building high performance teams.
Strong accounting and financial skills.
Good tax knowledge is mandatory.
Advanced MS Excel skills.
Knowledge of ProMan/similar software is advantageous.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
An ability to work with all levels of diverse staff.
Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team.
Excellent attention to detail and numerical analytical ability.
Supervision and management of staff.
Ability to analyse and present information visually and clearly.
Report writing skills.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel within South Africa and in Africa.
Ability to work overtime when required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial close for month-end / quarter-end and year-end reporting.
Preparation and presentation of the management accounts and business unit reports monthly.
Involvement in the statutory and QMS audits as required.
Day to day monitoring of all aspects of the financial performance of the various companies in the Group.
Preparation of the budget for corporate overheads.
Prepare and manage the annual budgeting process.
Analyse results and provide timely feedback to the CFO/Head: Corporate Services and internal / external clients.
Review of cash position and cash flow management.
Review VAT returns.
Interaction with banks, internal and external auditors.
Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable and fixed assets.
Tax administration and filing in various entities within the Company.
Submission of financial information to relevant organisations.
Support function for accounting within the Company.
SARB applications and renewals.
Insurance renewals / procurement where required on specific projects.
Manage branch and corporate overheads.
Provide financial and tax assistance for tender applications.
Drive results through the hands-on management and supervision of the finance team.
Compliance with and managing direct reports compliance with the companys Quality Management System (ISO9001:2015) and Business Management System (BMS).
Maintain regular and continued professional development through on the job training, in-house courses, seminars or outsourced specialist training as required and agreed with the CFO/Head: Corporate Services
