Job Description


Job PurposeTo plan, manage and monitor the implementation of all financial management practices, activities and processes in order to deliver on approved operational financial plans and to continuously enhance service delivery. Reconcile financial records to enable verification of the validity of transactions.
Specific Role ResponsibilitiesGeneric Job OutputsPROCESS

  • Contribute to the development of the appropriate strategy and set targets within area of accountability.
  • Define standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Implement and manage end-to-end processes.
  • Manage all operational risk and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Manage operational sustainability initiatives.
  • Manage BBBEE inputs and reporting.
  • Manage the security of all assets (including cash) in line with approved policies, processes and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational processes for quality and effectiveness and notify stakeholders accordingly.
  • Monitor and report on progress against operational plans and adjust where required.
  • Plan, manage and monitor governance compliance processes in area of accountability in order to manage risks and expose liabilities.
  • Resolve problems by applying the necessary discretion and guidelines.
FINANCE
  • Compile management accounts, including, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries.
  • Ensure accuracy of daily transaction processing through appropriate high level review mechanisms.
  • Ensure effective and efficient administration of operational costs within budget, identify areas of financial and operational risk and escalate appropriately.
  • Identify opportunities to minimise cost / increase revenue.
  • Manage financial activities in line with approved policies and procedures.
  • Manage, monitor and report on budget variances and provide solutions.
  • Prepare accurate and timeous financial reporting in respect of key performance metrics and recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
  • Reconciling financial records to enable verification of the validity of transactions.
  • Forex planning and forecasting.
  • Preparation of Payroll inputs and reconciliations.
  • Estimation of future costings and profits of planned vehicle arrivals.
  • Balance sheet reconciliation reviews.
  • Preparation and submission of Flash reporting packs.
  • Completion, submission and review of Hyperion Financial packs.
  • Consolidation of financial reporting relating to all Emerging Brands companies.
  • Preparation and submission of Flash reporting packs.
  • Preparation of quarterly Board and FRRC packs.
  • Preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
  • Audit Liaison.
  • Custodian of Controls Self-Assessment system.
  • Preparation and calculation of provisional tax payments.
  • Review of annual tax packs for submission to the Group Tax department

Qualifications and ExperienceMinimum QualificationCA (SA) qualificationMinimum Experience3 - 5 years' experience in a similar environment, of which at least 1 - 3 years' supervisory / team lead experienceSkills and Personal AttributesMinimum Requirements
  • A broad understanding of the motor and/or the logistics and /or transport industry and legislation relating thereto.
  • Registered Chartered Accountant / Other professional accounting registration
