Position Purpose:
The incumbent is responsible to investigate all complaints, non-compliance, fraudulent activities, employee service conditions
and any other related transgressions or tip-offs pertaining to Transnet National Ports Authority, its employees, and
customers, through a professional, confidential, and systematic approach.
The investigation will include.
Interviewing employees and clients,
written statements,
Analysing processes, procedures, systems, evidence and exhibits.
Tracking witnesses, tips and clues.
The resultant investigation will.
Serve as evidence in disciplinary hearings or criminal proceedings.
Provide recommendations or scientific solutions on any weaknesses or anomalies in the identified environment, processes,
or systems, for corrective action, management intervention and or implementation.
Position outputs:
Investigate the validity of complaints, tip-offs, allegations and weaknesses in any processes, procedures, systems and
service conditions.
Retain or confiscate exhibits and or samples.
Interview internal or external witnesses and complainants.
Consult with law enforcement officials as and when required.
Liaise or wok together with Transnet Internal auditors (TIA) as and when required.
Conduct trend analysis on investigation results for improvements and recommendations.
Conduct process and method study and recommend scientific solutions.
Present evidence at disciplinary hearings and court of law and be a credible witness.
Research and recommend process improvements
Keep abreast with policies, procedures, technologies and employee service conditions.
Maintain accurate records of investigations through an effective and controlled archive system.
Compile written statements from witnesses, complainants, and gather evidence.
Compile job procedures, standard work values and or manuals of procedures as a solution to the relevant stakeholders.
Provide regular feedback or progress to management.
Facilitate a candid discussion during an interview.
Develop and implement investigation principles and guidelines.
Undertake adhoc HR audits nationally and close any gaps of non-conformance as a proactive measure.
Provide support & advice to Line Management & Senior Managers/Executives at national level.
Manage, lead, coordinate, plan and organise the investigation functions.
Develop and implement the investigation and Information management strategy.
Develop and Implement a system and procedure to ensure the investigation of tip-offs, allegations and complaints, from
internal and external applicants/employees or organisations are effective.
Undertake or manage adhoc projects.
Monitor compliance to policies, procedures, processes and service conditions.
Develop and maintain database
General Administration.
Protect the integrity, confidentiality and availability of information that is in the custody of or processed by Transnet National
Ports Authority.
Develop and introduce new concepts and ideas in investigations which is future based for the total TNPA.
Qualifications & Experience:
LLB or BCom, and Forensic Investigations post graduate qualifications, or
NQF level 7 Postgraduate/National Diploma qualification in Business Management.
Minimum 12 years experience is required, of which at least 6 years experience in a large enterprise with practical
experience in operations and internal controls environment. and,
6 years experience at management level, to understand the policies, procedures, practices of the organisation.

Competencies:
Investigations, as well as risk management concepts and frameworks.
Working knowledge and understanding of PFMA Combating and Prevention of Corrupt Activities Act and related
legislation.
Understanding of strategic, functional, operational and technical HR management and related risks, including fraud risks.
Forensic
Fraud preventions and detection tools and methodologies.
