Manager: Payroll (Grade 15) - 6 months contractFinance Division: Payroll SectionThe Finance Division invite suitably qualified candidates to join their team.Main ObjectivesEnsure the smooth and efficient running of the Payroll Department all payrolls. Core functions of this office are the timeous payment of Salaries and Wages, ensure accuracy; adherence to statutory and legislative requirements, optimizing business processes, striving for operational efficiencies as well as the oversight, coordination & administration of the Universitys staff loans. Further to ensure identification and correction of discrepancies / errors, ensure accurate Payroll reconciliations in compliance with existing policies and procedures thereby not exposing the University to risk while preserving its reputation and ensuring that Management, Auditors and Clients are provided with accurate information.The RequirementsA relevant B. Degree plus approximately 6 years relevant experience where relevant experience includes: -

  • Having worked with accounts and/or in an accounting environment with at least 5 years experience working in payroll
  • Must have worked on a computerized payroll system, with specific experience on SAGE Payroll
  • Previous experience in handling payroll queries
  • Knowledge of current legislation relating to PAYE, UIF, LRA, BCEA and finance legislation, i.e. National Credit act.
  • At least 2-years supervision/management experience
