This position requires knowledge in multiple technical areas, problem resolution skills, with sound decision-making and troubleshooting skills.The post reports to the Director: Infrastructure and Engineering, and assumes responsibility for:

• Delivering UWC projects in a manner that is consistent, reliable, disciplined, cost-effective and compliant with UWC policies and requirements
• Applying appropriate, reliable and standardised methodologies to the planning and delivery of projects and project records
• Overall Project reporting, program level planning, project scheduling, risk management, project financial, stakeholder management, safety management, and quality management
• Management of an in-house project office, and multiple consultant teams
• Policy design and business support
• Standardisation of specifications and design
• Effective and efficient business process design and implementation
• Procurement and management of service level agreements, including budgetary and quality assurance

Minimum Requirements

• .Bachelors degree (NQF Level 7) in Architecture/Building/Construction/Project Management
• 5 years' experience in general built infrastructure, with at least 3 years supervisory experience
• Good computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and CAD systems
• Valid drivers' license
• Proven track record in project planning, execution, quality assurance and cost control

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of contract law
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Good knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
• Good knowledge of building regulations and standards ISO Standards/SABS/ASIB
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work under pressure with adherence to deadlines
• Adaptability
• Knowledge of the functioning of Higher Education institutions will be an advantage
• Professional registration (SACPCMP or SACAP) will be an advantage
