This senior role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and in particular: Ensuring stakeholders are recognized as partners in the development and delivery of the KZN mining project Developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies including informing, consulting and involving stakeholders and evaluating the effectiveness of these strategies Advising senior management of issues and/or risks to stakeholder relationships as soon as they arise so risks can be managed effectively Ensuring management and staff understand the value of, and are committed to, the genuine participation of stakeholders in the development and long term operation of the project. Ensuring that strategies and tactics are designed to meet stakeholder needs with a well understood customer-focus Managing the effective delivery and ongoing implementation of a stakeholder contact management system Managing the measurement of stakeholder satisfaction and developing and implementing strategies to improve levels of satisfaction Strategizing and guiding the Corporate Social Investment programs for the Project Capacitating stakeholder groups where necessary Interacting with specialist consultants particularly related to Social Impact Assessment and public participation programs. REQUIREMENTS 10 - 15 Years' extensive and diverse experience in stakeholder engagement and/or management Corporate and government experience in stakeholder engagement/management, communications, and consultation. Tertiary qualifications in communications, business, public relations or relevant field (desirable) Strong understanding of consultation principles and tools and ability to apply these effectively Experience and deep understanding of the traditional authority structure and the relationships, responsibilities and accountabilities of national, provincial and local government structures.
