Job Summary The Appointee should: Have NQF 7 (Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma) Have at least 10 years experience of which 7 years must be in a role managing teams. Be medically fit to work in a specific business area. Have a clear security screening record. Have a valid driver's license (if applicable). Have full understanding of the Supply Chain, Procurement, and Contract management value chain. Advantageous Qualifications: MBA Qualification would be advantageous. Key Responsibilities: Governance : Manage and monitor adherence of the commodity team to policies, procedures, ethical standards and governance requirements. Compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance. Ensure that SOX compliance requirements are adhered to. Strategic Procurement / Contract Management: Contribute to formulation of strategies within supply chain. Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to ensure that procurement of goods/ services and contracting aligns with overall strategy and business requirements. Identify potential suppliers, conduct market research, and analyze industry trends to inform strategic procurement decisions. Ensure proficiency in the supply chain process. Determine business requirements and draw up suitable Commodity Strategies. Manage contracting of global and local suppliers. Identify cross-functional teams to participate in commodity initiatives. Collaborate with internal customers/ end users to ensure that clear scopes of work, technical, quality, safety and timing requirements are identified and agreed. Develop and implement Contracting Strategies in conjunction with relevant stakeholders. Monitor the implementation of Contracting Strategies against set targets and take corrective action (in conjunction with relevant stakeholders) Manage the continuous improvement of Contracting Strategies (in conjunction with relevant stakeholders) Review spend data and trends in order to identify improvement opportunities. Increase and maintain percentage contract spend coverage as per set targets. Manage and monitor the performance on spend covered by contracts. Meet procurement savings and cost avoidance set targets. Improve strategic procurement turnaround times (PR to Contract/ PO) on tenders and meet set targets. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with procurement activities. Develop risk management and resilience strategies to address issues such as supply chain disruptions, supplier instability, and market fluctuations. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic procurement activities. Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend best practices. Maximise use of Supply Chain ICT systems to promote efficiencies. Contribute to innovation and new work methods to increase efficiency. Escalation and Economic Forecasting : Determine main cost drivers against cost breakdown and indices to measure forecasts. Ensure that Contract Price Adjustments are fair. BBBE Spend : Ensure compliance to Mining Charter procurement targets. Support initiatives to meet host community supplier spend targets Stakeholder Relations : Customer Relations: Develop and manage internal customer relationships to meet business objectives. Liaise with a range of internal customers. Handle and attend to a range of customer complaints. Supplier Relations: Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships to meet business objectives. Foster and maintain supplier relations. Handle and attend to a range of supplier complaints.
