The position will report to EPU Manager Motors and is based in Dunnottar, Nigel (Gauteng).Job PurposePainting of the rotor, as well as supporting with the loading and cleaning (resin) of the completed stator frame windings between the VPI (Vacuum & Pressure Impregnation) and the various drying ovens.Reporting to the EPU Manager / Group Leader / Production Team LeaderKey ResponsibilitiesMixing solvents and paints according to the described ratioMasking and painting the rotorLoading and unloading the rotor into paint boothCleaning equipment after use and tidying area in accordance with 5SPerforming equipment and tooling self-inspections (blocked filters / nozzles etc.)Checking drying times of the product, according to the VPI special processLoading and unloading the wound stator in the various ovens and VPI according to these drying timesCleaning excess resin from the product and Sorting of wasteAdhering to continuous improvement processes and teamworkComplying with all safety rules & regulationsDetecting, anticipating and reporting minor manufacturing anomalies, as well as more complex defectsParticipate in applicable continuous improvement initiatives for motorMinimum RequirementsGrade 12 or N3 CertificateRelevant experience within a manufacturing and/or similar environmentPrevious experience mixing and preparing the paint for applicationGood knowledge of painting, resin, hot product handling and lifting hazardsAble to operate, start and stop the drying / curing ovensRead and interpret technical documents (work instructions, safety instructions, etc.)Able to operate hand power tools, slings, drilling machines, grinders and other hand tools related to the job requirementHave appropriate knowledge of water base paint and solvents base paintAppropriate knowledge on paint equipment settings and controlsUnderstanding of paint defects and rectifications thereofUnderstand cleaning, masking and preparing paint surfacesAble to use the crane for assembly operations and move the product with pallet trucks Special Requirements Previous experience mixing and preparing the paint for application Closing Date 07 June 2024 Should you not hear from us in 30 days, consider your application as unsuccessful.
