Manufacturing Manager - MaitlandFull job descriptionWe are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead our manufacturing operations. In this key role, you will oversee all production processes, manage inventory control, and ensure the highest product quality standards. You will be responsible for planning and implementing efficient production strategies that align with our business objectives, supervising our facilities, production lines, and procurement activities.Collaboration with senior managers and supervisors will be essential to maintain safety and regulatory compliance while driving operational excellence. If you have a passion for optimising manufacturing processes and fostering a high-performance team culture, we invite you to apply and contribute to our continued success!Requirements:Grade 12Own vehicle and driver's licenseEngineering related qualification) advantageous)5 years plus experience managing and supervising a large group of employees in the manufacturing industry, preferably in steel manufacturingUnderstanding of quality standards and health & safety regulationsExperience in reporting on key production metricsGood working knowledge of ERP and MRP systemsGood working knowledge of quality standards and Health & Safety regulations.Proficient in Syspro advantageousInherent Characteristics:Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify problems and implement preventative strategies to minimise non-conformities.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, fostering good working relationships and trust with various teams.Outstanding communication capability, including excellent people management and project management skills.Ability to motivate staff and maintain strong organisational skills.Willingness to be flexible to meet business needs and adapt to changing circumstances.Strong decision-making skills with a results-driven approach.Proficient in MS Office, with excellent numeracy and computer literacy skills.Organised and efficient, demonstrating good administration skills.Punctual with a good attendance record, always keeping the end-user, internal and external customers in mind.Results and deadline-driven, with the ability to work well with different departments and external suppliers.Key Duties:Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements.Assess standard and non-standard manufacturing requirements and necessary resources.Manage the procurement of raw materials and consumables.Optimise and organise workflows to meet specifications and deadlines.Supervise and evaluate the performance of production personnel.Monitor and drive production to achieve deadlines while continuously improving processes.Identify and eliminate production waste within processes and materials.Implement and maintain continuous improvement programs aligned with industry best practices.Ensure all pre-determined quality requirements are consistently met.Enforce and develop health, safety, and environmental systems in compliance with relevant standards and regulations, supported by HR.Ensure factory staff adhere to company policies, procedures, and work instructions.Work with maintenance teams to schedule planned factory maintenance and specify/purchase equipment.Oversee repair and maintenance programs for production equipment.Facilitate regular factory meetings to discuss staff, production orders, and material/equipment requirements.Set up, maintain, and provide a monthly factory efficiency report.Manage periodic stocktaking activities in the factory.Organise and execute relevant training sessions for factory staff on HSE, product assembly, and quality awareness.Provide regular feedback to senior management regarding the status of production and the factory.Negotiate production timescales or schedules as necessary.Resolve issues as they arise.Execute any reasonable instructions given by senior management.What We Offer:Competitive market-related salaryCo-contribution to pension fundEnjoyable and rewarding fast paced environment; where we value team and individual efforts that contribute to the business goals.If you meet the above requirements and possess a strong background as a Manufacturing Manager, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity by submitting your resume, cover letter, and salary expectations.
