Marine Commissioning Qc
Job Description
Reporting to the QC Co-ordinator, the successful candidate will, as a non-exhaustive tasks list:
Need to assist with QC function on newbuild vessels after launching - after transition from production phase to commissioning of systems
Good understanding of various ships systems (Cooling/fuel, bilge/firefighting propulsion especially jet drives/engine alignment, electrically sound knowledge on 24 and 220V systems, navigational equipment, engine controllers
Meticulous in following check lists and following up on open items
Keen eye for aesthetics of vessel in various areas
Ideas for improvements on vessel system layouts
If there is some slack time between delivery of vessels and launching of new builds, to be integrated into QC functions on the production side of the newbuilds (Hull construction, fitting of piping systems, electrical systems installation, mechanical systems installations).
CORE COMPETENCIES, ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERENCES
Educational:
Junior marine engineer with 1-2 years sea going experience
Experience/Technical:
Ship working experience of onboard systems is a plus (electrical system, hydraulics, air conditioning, fuel supply, engine cooling). Understanding of industry specific standards and norms
Personal:
Team spirit Good communication, transmission, and delegation capacities Capable of adapting easily to different requests, environments, and situations Very attentive to details, objective, open minded, proactive, creative, orderly, and reactive Able to work in a multi-cultural and personalities environment Able to respect deadlines Able to work overtime when required
