Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
To diagnose problems and repair diesel engines and ancillary equipment To apply troubleshooting methods, replace parts and run tests, to ensure the systems is working properly, following up to repairs
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The following trade tested qualifications will be consideredMechanical Fitter / Diesel Fitter / Diesel Mechanic A minimum of 5 years' experience Must be qualified with a valid trade test certificate Must have large diesel engine overhaul experience Ability and acumen to work independently Strong mechanical background A strong knowledge and strong commitment to Health and Safety processes Sound communication skills
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND REQUIREMENTS:
A team player and ability to maintain a positive attitude within the team A can-do attitude Be proactive and flexible, willing to work long hours Medically fit to work on board fishing vessels Sober habits and punctual Clear criminal record
