Job Title: Marketing & Business Development ExecutiveReports to:Business Development Manager, South AfricaResponsible for:South Africa/Africa BDPurpose of the role:Reporting into the Business Development Manager, the Marketing & Business Development Executive will support in delivering key and exciting projects and manage the day-to-day activities of the regional marketing and business development plans.Main duties and responsibilities:General BD and Marketing - contribute to the successful implementation of marketing and business development plans, taking responsibility for quality, consistency, and accuracy through:

  • Supporting with both projects (Group/Sector/Office and firmwide projects) and marketing campaigns across the full marketing mix in collaboration with the Business Development Manager.
  • Supporting with brand profile and reputation raising campaigns across the region.
  • Ensuring key data and information sources are up to date including Templafy, central Bids Portal, Interaction.
  • Maintaining the marketing/business development content on intranet and web pages.
  • Supporting with the research and completion of legal directory submissions and tracking results.
  • Assisting with the implementation of specific business development projects including target client lists, local activations.
  • Tracking competitor activity.
  • Actively working with Business Development Manager to initiate full follow-ups and de-briefs accordingly and manage the process.
Events - working with the Business Development Manager and central events team to support the delivery of events aligned with the business development and marketing strategy:
  • Supporting in end-to-end delivery of events - content creation, logistics and assist with social media posts.
  • Initiate the de-brief process and track event through CRM software.
  • Research into sponsorships and conferences, collaborating with relevant BD colleagues including the central Group and Sector BD teams.
CRM - working with the Business Development Manager and Legal PAs to support the utilisation of CRM database.Bids - support the generation of new revenue through:
  • Providing support to the Business Development Manager and Central Bids team in applying the firm's bid management process and responding to bidding opportunities
  • Ensuring opportunities are fully briefed before work begins on new opportunities.
  • Drafting and collating client specific and general BD documents.
  • Work with lawyers and PAs in using Templafy for informal credentials statements and ad hoc materials.
  • Gathering credentials and ensuring the credentials database is updated.
  • Ensuring CVs and LinkedIn profiles are maintained for fee earners.
Marcomms - ensuring that BD materials are branded according to the brand guidelines, including liaising with Design Bar.Team Support
  • Attend to relevant Group and Sector meetings virtually or in person.
  • Management of marketing materials.
  • Maintaining core materials and updating reports including firmwide BD activities, competitor activity, media mentions, bids, deals, rankings etc
  • Co-ordinating business development meetings as agreed with the Business Development Manager.
  • Other responsibilities as directed by the Business Development Manager or Head of Business Development, EMEA
Person SpecificationQualifications:
  • Relevant marketing/communications/BD or related qualifications
Relevant Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years prior marketing experience working across the full marketing mix (preferably within a multinational organisation).
  • Experience in event coordination with a proven track record of successfully planning, executing and following up events
  • Previous business development experience.
  • Experience of professional services marketing desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in CRM systems preferrable.
