Together with more than 230 colleges, universities, and corporate partners, we are helping to unlock human potential.What We're Looking For:The Marketing Compliance Specialist is a key role within 2U's consumer protection regime, responsible for ensuring compliance with consumer protection standards.The primary focus of the position is the review of 2U marketing materials / content, to ensure alignment with legal requirements and 2U internal standards and best practices. This individual is a member of the Compliance team and acts as a key Compliance stakeholder in supporting marketing and other teams in the creation of marketing and outreach materials. Members of this team work collaboratively with marketing and student engagement staff across all business lines on an enterprise wide basis.The role functions in a semi-embedded manner, working cooperatively and in deep partnership with the marketing and creative teams to ensure transparency, accuracy and accountability in marketing content.Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Act as first level compliance reviewer and approver for marketing assets to ensure adherence to content standards.
This includes reviewing, commenting, and providing guidance on marketing asset tickets to support compliance requirements while helping marketing and student engagement achieve their business objectives. Oversight and review spans various categories of content including:
  • Program websites;
  • Email marketing content;
  • Demand gen portal properties;
  • Inbound media; and
  • Student Engagement training and program handbooks.
  • Conduct periodic audits, both systematic and ad hoc, of sales and marketing materials across the 2U portfolio to ensure ongoing compliance with standards.
  • Work cooperatively with the creative and brand teams to ensure that partner style guide requirements are appropriately reconciled with 2U marketing content standards.
  • As required, identify and escalate sensitive content to relevant Legal and Compliance stakeholders for additional review.
  • Identify opportunities to drive cross-functional alignment between marketing and student engagement leadership and 2U's marketing compliance function. This includes working cooperatively with key marketing stakeholders to identify and solve process and workflow issues.
  • Support Director in identifying areas where standards and / or training require development or change to meet evolving regulatory needs or evolution of the business.
The scope of the Compliance team's responsibility is enterprise-wide and continues to evolve as the business grows organically, introduces new servicing strategies, expands internationally, and undertakes and integrates acquisitions. Because of this continuing evolution, some aspects of the role may evolve over time.Things That Should Be In Your Background:
  • Bachelor's degree with relevant coursework (journalism, communications, English, marketing)
  • At least two years of experience working in a high-volume throughput and/or deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines while prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience developing and sustaining collaborative cross-functional relationships in a business or educational institution
