Our client in the Higher Education industry is currently looking for a Marketing Director, in Johannesburg, Gauteng.Responsibilities:
Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to achieve business objectives, including market penetration, brand positioning, and customer acquisition.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire the marketing team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Brand Management: Oversee brand development and ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels.
Agency Management: Identify the need for outsourced skills and be able to source and partner with ad, digital, PR or research agencies where required.
Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and analyse multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, social media, print, and events.
Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform marketing strategies.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
Partnerships and Collaborations: Identify and develop strategic partnerships and collaborations to enhance marketing efforts and expand reach.
Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing activities and regularly report on the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies. A key requirement is to be able to clearly map lead source to conversion and therefore a strong understanding of digital marketing systems as well as CRMs is important.
Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including sales, product development, and external agencies, to align marketing initiatives with business goals.
Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and innovations to keep the company at the forefront of marketing practices.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in marketing roles, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership position.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in digital marketing, including SEO, SEM, social media, and content marketing.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Familiarity with marketing automation tools and CRM systems.
