Position Overview:This internship offers a unique opportunity for an ambitious individual to support the marketing and event management activities of a fast-paced sports organization. The Marketing and Events Intern will play a key role in assisting with the planning, promotion, and execution of sports events, as well as contributing to ongoing marketing efforts to boost brand visibility and engagement.Key Responsibilities:Marketing SupportAssisting in the implementation of specific projects and campaigns designed to promote and strengthen the companys brand.
Carrying out tasks such as creating content, managing social media platforms, launching advertising campaigns, or organizing events.
Every initiative supported should reflect the companys brand identity, including tone, style, and messaging, to maintain a cohesive and recognizable image.Aligning with the Overall Marketing Strategy:Strategic fit: Youll ensure that every activity you work on fits within the broader marketing strategy, which outlines how the brand will grow, engage customers, and differentiate itself from competitors.
Focus on priorities: You'll help prioritize initiatives that align with the company's main objectives, such as increasing brand awareness, driving sales, or improving customer engagement.
Conducting research and keeping the team abreast on the following but not limited to:o Competitor trendso Consumer researcho Market trendso Experiential marketingo Areas of opportunityCollaborative Support:Cross-team coordination: Youll work alongside different departments (sales, design, content, etc.) to ensure the smooth implementation of marketing initiatives.
Problem-solving: When challenges arise, you help troubleshoot and find solutions, ensuring that campaigns or projects are delivered on time and on target.
Feedback loop: Provide input based on customer feedback, market trends, and data analysis to optimize ongoing and future campaigns.
Assist in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns to promote sports events and brand initiatives.
Create and schedule engaging content for social media platforms, newsletters, and websites to drive audience engagement.
Support the creation of promotional materials such as flyers, brochures, press releases, and digital ads.
Assist in managing the organizations online presence, tracking social media metrics, and providing insights for improvement.
Collaborate with the marketing team to conduct market research and analyze audience insights to refine event marketing strategies.
Help manage email marketing campaigns, including drafting, scheduling, and analyzing performance data.Event Management Support:Provide support in the planning and coordination of sports events, tournaments, and community initiatives.
Assist with vendor management, including sourcing, negotiating, and liaising with suppliers for event-related services (venues, catering, equipment, etc.).
Work closely with the events team to ensure the smooth execution of events, from pre-event logistics to on-the-day coordination and post-event evaluation.
Support in the preparation of event timelines, schedules, and budgets.
Help coordinate event registrations, manage ticketing platforms, and respond to attendee inquiries.
Assist in managing event sponsorships and partnerships, including activation and promotion of sponsor activities.General DutiesContribute to the planning and execution of brand activations and fan engagement activities during sporting events.
Assist in coordinating with internal departments (PR, digital, operations) to ensure alignment across all event and marketing activities.
Attend and participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and event debriefs to contribute ideas and insights.
Assist in the preparation of post-event reports with metrics and analysis to measure event success.
Support with administrative tasks such as maintaining databases, creating presentations, and organizing promotional inventory.Qualifications, Attributes :Degree in Marketing, Event Management, Sports Management, Communications, or a related field.
Strong understanding of event planning and marketing concepts.
Previous experience ( volunteer, or academic) in event management or marketing is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with an ability to create compelling content and reports.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in MS Office, social media platforms, and basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop) would be a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
