Job Summary Introduction A premium distributor of high-end alcohol brands is looking for a Marketing Executive to oversee a team of Brand Managers from the head office. This role will concentrate on strategic brand planning and achieving outstanding national execution. The perfect candidate will be insight-oriented, ensuring thorough measurement and evaluation of initiatives. Strong collaboration with key stakeholders, including Brand Principals, the Executive team, and all business departments, is crucial. Duties & Responsibilities Marketing Plans Develop and execute brand strategies based on insights, creating and implementing both short-term and long-term marketing plans, activities, and programs aimed at gaining market share. Communicate brand objectives effectively across the business, ensuring alignment and clarity for all stakeholders. Ensure brand marketing methodologies and strategies align with Brand Principal requirements and are acceptable to Principals. Negotiate brand marketing methodologies and strategies with Brand Principals when necessary, improving implementation for South African consumer and market needs. Team Leadership Foster good working relationships within the team, ensuring high performance, motivation, and continuous improvement. Guide, support, and monitor team performance, aligning with the company's performance review process. Continuously evaluate and adapt processes and administrative tasks to enhance team effectiveness. Engage actively with the Executive Team. Financial Management Compile Annual Marketing Budgets: Align with brand needs and Brand Principal agreements. Set Financial Objectives: Focus on Brand Plans and Strategies. Coach the Brand Team: Optimize financial resource allocations and Clarify A&P allocations and monthly expenditure tracking. Align with Financial Processes: Promote good financial practices and behaviors. Develop and Recommend Pricing Strategies: Aim to increase long-term market share. Management of Teams and Project Coordination Brand Plan Delivery: Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of individual and collective Brand Plans. Agency Standards: Guarantee Agency partners exceed minimum execution standards. World-Class Activities: Deliver world-class activities and tools that meet Premium Brand/Company standards. Marketing and Policies: Monitor and improve marketing activities and brand management policies and procedures. Engagement and Partnership: Engage in all aspects of the brand team activities (ATL, PR & BTL) and with respective partners/suppliers. Compliance and Consistency: Ensure localized activity is compliant and consistent with global brand standards and local liquor code of conduct. Trade Trends Assessment: Continuously assess trade trends and inspire the brand team to create localized solutions aligned with consumer and customer needs. Desired Experience & Qualification Educational Background: A 3-year tertiary education qualification is mandatory. Professional Experience: Over 10 years of relevant experience, ideally within the FMCG or liquor industry. Skills and Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage brand team members. Exceptional communication abilities. Strong skills in building relationships with both internal and external partners. Solid financial and business understanding. Competence in problem-solving, prioritizing tasks, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Proactive in anticipating needs and delivering solutions.
