Job Description


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development and implementation of the Casino Resortxe2x80x99s full marketing plan, including revenues, occupancies, footfall and other key financial and brand awareness drivers xe2x80x93 including consultation and forward planning with all divisional heads and Peermont head office.
  • Development and implementation of advertising, promotions, direct marketing, entertainment, public relations, relationship marketing and loyalty programme plans to ensure repeat and new business from identified target markets. This includes the implementation of effective Winners Circle, Black Card and Crown Key casino and hotel marketing strategies.
  • Continuously monitor revenue performance of the casino resort and different divisions, and proactively recommend solutions to improve. This is a primary focus of this position.
  • Aggressively implement defence or attack marketing plans with competitor casino resorts activity mapping xe2x80x93 including the new Menlyn casino project and threat .
  • Ensure for all hotel market segments as well as events and conferences
  • Market the approved positioning, image, facilities and services of the casino resort through effective communication to all target markets xe2x80x93 including gamblers, daytrippers, media, local government, travel agencies, corporates, business leaders etc.
  • Strong communication with fellow operational departments and General Manager to compile, co-ordinate and implement local marketing interventions and fix it strategies when the business needs it - even outside of normal plans set for the year.
  • Ensure that the casino resort has a detailed forward promotions calendar that is conceptualised and populated in detail 12 months in advance, taking cognisance of previous business trends and the needs of the different divisions i.e. casino, hotel, food and beverage, conferencing and entertainment.
  • In conjunction with the Entertainment Manager ensure a busy but financially viable entertainment calendar is planned, implemented and communicated effectively to increase the right footfall on complex xe2x80x93 ensuring conversion strategies to increase gaming. This includes music concerts, shows, daily entertainment, family holiday programmes, sporting events, boxing, cycling, road running etc.
  • Effective event management for launches, promotions, CSI etc.
  • Conduct regular market research, customer care analysis and provide marketing insights for management to enable better decision making.
  • Plan and execute - standard advertising in the key catchment markets to ensure awareness and footfall. This includes proactive forward planning of advertising needs in production and media, and demonstrating exceptional creativity that cuts through the clutter.
  • Ensure an effective PR strategy, generating regular newsworthy publicity stories and good media relations.
  • Ensure is positioned at the forefront of social media messaging and deployment of different platforms for maximum awareness and commercial benefit.
  • Oversee the accuracy and cleanliness of the Winners Circle, hotel, sales and entertainment databases, and ensure an aggressive and active direct marketing plan to drive revenues xe2x80x93 with appropriate offers to active and inactive customers.
  • Ensure effective retention, activation and re-activation of current and lapsed gamblers through relevant and appropriate offers and communication to the members. This includes effective deployment of the call centre.
  • Effective management of the in-house DTP studio with the key outputs of creative campaigns that works and cost effective time management.
  • Management, motivation and development of marketing, entertainment, promotions and DTP staff for best results and job satisfaction.
  • Coordinate photographic and video shoots at property level, taking direction from the Group Communications Manager.
  • Compile and manage costs of the annual marketing budget, and being flexible to make short term adjustments without overspending.
  • Compile effective marketing month-end reports which must include report backs on key projects, divisional priorities, upcoming forward plans, ROI on entertainment or advertising campaigns, Winners Circle statistics etc. and contribute to the casino resortxe2x80x99s effective OPCO reporting through the GM.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • A proven track record in a similar role or industry
  • Good organizational and administrative skills is critical
  • A Marketing Degree or Diploma is essential
  • At least 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a Sales & Marketing management role, preferably in the hospitality or entertainment industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong collaboration at all levels and lots of patience
  • Technical and professional proficiencies in radio production, TV production, media schedules and advertising briefing for best results
  • Be proficient in MS Office, including above average computer and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels
  • Innovation and creativity is a key attribute of this position

  • Be emotionally mature in working under pressure
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail is a distinct advantage
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Specific job requirements for the position include:
  • Be willing to travel as and when required.
  • Be able to work extended hours and over weekends and public holidays.
Will be required to obtain a National Gaming Board License from the Gauteng Gaming Board
