Marketing Operations & Strategy Lead Marketing
Cape Town - Western Cape - South AfricaOur global pharmaceutical client is seeking a Marketing Operations & Strategy Lead who will provide strategic direction and support to the Head of RX Sales SA, SFE & Marketing Africa. This role involves executing and coordinating strategic marketing projects, managing operational expectations, and driving business efficiencies. The successful candidate will also prioritise key tasks, utilise data analytics to support decision-making and integrate marketing operations across Africa, ensuring synergy between teams and the alignment of business objectives.Key Accountabilities:

  • Track and lead key Strategic Marketing Projects initiated by the Head of RX Sales SA, SFE & Marketing - Africa
  • Coordinate and facilitate annual marketing operational activities, including brand plans, budget processes, and AOP expectations
  • Actively drive and coordinate marketing operations within Africa
  • Support the BU head in fostering collaboration and improving communication between marketing, sales, and SFE teams
  • Monitor and track marketing financial management to control spending
  • Manage timelines with conflicting priorities
  • Handle sensitive relationships as a company representative to external contacts
  • Manage support for relationship management and share best practices within the team
  • Instill a constructive, win-win, quality-outcome environment
  • Drive the execution of innovative and operational initiatives and projects for the Rx marketing function
  • Address complex business challenges promptly within tight deadlines
  • Maintain a broad network across management teams within South Africa and Africa to facilitate optimal project execution
  • Lead business model innovations to position the company for long-term success
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including teams in Sub-Saharan and North Africa, to enhance marketing integration
  • Prioritise high-impact meetings and agendas aligned with organisational goals
  • Drive projects that build capabilities and support long-term growth
Qualifications and Relevant Experience:
  • Relevant Post-Matric Qualification
  • More than 3 years of marketing experience, preferably in pharma
  • 2-3 years of project management experience
  • Exposure to and high-level understanding of core business functions such as finance, commercial, supply chain, quality, regulatory, and business development
  • Proven ability to work closely with key stakeholders, understand organisational culture and execute projects with strict timelines
