Job Description

The Marketing and Social Media Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and monitoring of the festival's digital and offline marketing initiatives. This individual will manage social media platforms, oversee digital content-creation, and ensure the successful execution of marketing campaigns aligned with the festival's vision. They will also provide on-site support during the festival, ensuring real-time engagement and seamless coordination of marketing activities.

Key Responsibilities:



Social Media Management



Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive social media strategies aligned with the festival's goals and target audience. Plan, create, curate, and schedule engaging content across various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn and WhatsApp). Execute paid social media campaigns, ensuring optimization for maximum reach and return on investment (ROI). Develop and maintain a digital content calendar in collaboration with the marketing team. Monitor social media analytics using tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Insights, and others, and provide regular performance reports. Respond promptly and professionally to comments, messages, and inquiries on digital platforms. Stay informed about emerging trends, tools, and platform updates to keep strategies current and effective. Organize live event coverage on social media, including real-time updates, audience interaction, and content capture. Manage relationships with content creators, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables during the festival. Coordinate online competitions, including drafting terms, managing entries, and announcing winners. Collaborate with the media team to create promotional videos and content. Archive marketing and social media assets for future reference and reporting. Assist in preparing sponsorship reports, highlighting key metrics and successes.

Marketing Coordination



Support the implementation of marketing campaigns, ensuring they align with the festival's objectives and brand identity. Assist with the digital publication of the festival programme, maintaining accuracy and updates. Coordinate the distribution of the festival guide, managing logistics and timelines. Organize and oversee on-site marketing activations and promotional events. Appoint and manage the survey team, ensuring smooth data collection during the festival. Work closely with the design team to ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all marketing materials. Identify and nurture potential partnerships to expand the festival's reach and visibility. Facilitate post-event surveys and compile feedback to inform future planning. Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute creative ideas. Plan and implement partnerships with productions and artists for promotional materials.

Qualifications & Skills:



Bachelor's degree in either Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Five years of experience in a Marketing field. Proven experience in social media management, digital marketing, or a related role. Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in Afrikaans and English. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines. Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Meta) and graphic design platforms (e.g., Canva). Basic knowledge of analytic platforms like Google Analytics. A passion for the arts, culture, and live events, with a creative mindset and eye for design. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings during the festival period.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):



Growth in social media followers, engagement rates, and impressions. Timely execution of marketing campaigns and activations. Positive feedback from festival attendees, partners, and sponsors. Accuracy and timelines of marketing material-distribution and -updates.
