Job Description

Co-ordinates, monitors and undertakes specific sequences/activities associated with the
implementation of testing procedures, evaluates outcomes/ results, addresses non-conformity and/
or deviations from specifications and guides laboratory personnel on specific testing applications
and procedures
Key Responsibility AreasChecking and calibrating testing equipment using customized software programmes and test
methods to verify compliance with national standards (SABS test Methods, Technical
Method for Highways (TMH) Series, etc.)Co-ordinating and performing/ executing specific quality control procedures to assess
compliance with technical specifications with regards to Asphalt productionInterpreting test results against project specifications with a view to identifying deviations/
nonconformanceProviding recommendations based on test results on the acceptance/ rejection of material,
layer and or blends testedAnalysing materials purchased on xe2x80x9cannual supplyxe2x80x9d contracts to validate conformity with
standardsExtracting analytical summary reports and other related information and forwards to
relevant personnelIdentifying the need for training and/or conducting training on the implementation of test
standards to new personnel/ studentsMonitoring and controlling the productivity and performance of Laboratory personnel
