Job Description


PURPOSE OF THE JOB:Falcon is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer, responsible for the design, development and introduction of new products and further development of existing products in the companys product range, as well as any required facilities used in the realisation of such products.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOBProvide Technical Support

  • Collaborate with suppliers, dealers, technical specialists, and end-users to ensure product success.
  • Support operational teams at all levels within the company.
  • Represent the company at product workshops, exhibitions, and trade shows.
  • Develop and maintain user manuals for existing and new products, including written and graphical content.
  • Handle warranty adjudications, conducting investigations and writing technical reports on findings.
Draughting
  • Lead 3D CAD modeling of conceptual products and prototypes.
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings for prototype production.
Project Management
  • Oversee the introduction of new products and modifications to existing ones.
  • Collaborate with business managers to streamline processes for new product development and ensure customer acceptance.
  • Manage prototype production, testing, and refinement.
  • Maintain and safeguard the companys technical design resources (AutoCAD, Inventor).
  • Contribute to R&D initiatives and ongoing improvements to facilities and production processes.
  • Attend formal meetings to report on project progress and outcomes.
General Management Duties
  • Participate actively in management team discussions, providing updates on R&D activities.
  • Uphold the values and objectives of the company.
Requirements
  • National Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a mechanical, mechanized, or general technical environment
  • Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and advanced Excel skills.
Skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Numerical and statistical processing skills.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot product defects.
  • Capable of following procedures and producing detailed reports.
